What is Speech/Language Pathology?Speech/Language Pathology is the study and treatment of human communication disorders. An individual who pursued studies in this field is known as a speech language pathologist. A speech/language pathologist work is to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and social communication. As well as, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. There are various methods that can be utilized by a speech/language pathologist to evoke language. The methods used involve science and research.
What is Occupational Therapy?Pediatric occupational therapy helps children gain independence while also strengthening the development of fine motor skills, sensory motor skills, and visual motor skills that children need to function and socialize. Occupation therapists also work with children in trying to determine where delays or limitations are coming from, especially in the areas of fine motor skills, cognitive skills, social development, and establishing self-care routines.
